From Lifetime Collective –
This past Friday March 30th, 2012 we brought together LA based Lifetime Collective friends and family at HVW8 Gallery in Hollywood for a one night only event celebrating the release of our Free Thinkers Zine Issue #2! The night was amazing and fortunately we captured some really great footage of the whole experience!
The festivities kicked off with a print and photo show of select works form the zine followed by a live performance by The Mattson 2and DJ set by KCRW’s Jeremy Sole. The night was truly amazing with Lifetime Collective Artists and Free Thinker Zinecontributors bringing the experience to life. People from all over the city came together to make the night one for the books.
Big thank you to The Mattson 2, Jay Howell, Ray Potes, Jeremy Sole, Thee Oh Sees, HVW8, and American Rag!
And our good friend Joey Indrieri for the film and edit.
Enjoy the video!

Had a chance to stop by the Pulse Art Fair today and visit with Jen Stark at the Show and Tell Gallery booth.
Her work is amazingly detailed layered cut outs from wood and paper, that are labored, intricate and often take over a month to complete. The work puts you into a hypnotic state and have a kaleidoscope effect with moving parts and animation. We were lucky to be introduced to Jen through Alvaro Ilizarbe, her Miami counterpart and companion, at his HVW8 Gallery opening last year.
Here’s small video and photos from today. Thank you Cooper Cole/Show and Tell.

Dam-Funk x tAz Arnold Live at HVW8 Gallery from HVW8 on Vimeo.
With the holidays upon us, we thought it would be the perfect time to drop this first installment of a two part edition of the HVW8 Int’l Podcast.
Dam-Funk and tAz Arnold, performing together for the very first time at the HVW8 Gallery Music Series. This was a highly anticipated collaboration that did not disappoint – not that there were any doubts. The two heavyweights were joined by Thunder Cat, Major, Terrace Martin, Krondon and others on a funk adventure that builds and evolves. The final jam will blow your mind.
There’s just no way we could cut this audio down to fit one show! Take a listen and don’t forget that Part 2 is on its way soon. Special thanks to the players and the standing room only crowd.
