Jean André
Né en 1986 dans l’Aveyron, Jean André, graphiste, travaille à Montmartre pour, entre autres, Ed banger, des magazines et quelques marques ! Jean André range volontiers ses dessins dans un genre de « gentleman art » à mi-chemin entre les illustrations de charme et la simple mise en valeur de la beauté des dames. Ses influences principales vont de Tom Wesselmann à l’oeuvre de Matisse en passant par les photos de Richard Kern ou les magazines d’aventures pour hommes des années 50. De minimalistes à ultra réalistes, il cherche à explorer toutes les chances que lui offre l’encre de chine.
Born in 1986 in South France, Jean André, works as a graphic designer and Artist in Montmartre for Ed banger while exploring his own work. He describes his drawings as ‘gentleman art’, half between charming illustrations and the simple representation of women. His major influences goes from Tom Wesselmann to Matisse, through Richard Kern or Males Adventures magazines from the 50’s. At once minimalist and realistic, he tries to explore all the chances medium offers him.
